What data does Traqq collect?

Traqq is built around transparent and ethical time tracking. It collects only the information needed to track work time, manage workspaces, and keep user accounts secure.

Traqq does not secretly monitor users or provide hidden monitoring settings for admins. Users decide when to start and stop the timer, and Traqq only records the time spent on tasks and projects while the timer is running.

Account information

Traqq does not collect personal information from users beyond what is needed to create and manage an account.

Traqq stores:

- User name
- Email address
- Job title (optional and added by a Workspace Owner or Admin)

Traqq does not collect information such as:

  • - Personal messages or emails
    - User location data
    - Webcam or microphone content
    - Browsing content
  • Work-related information added by users

Users can optionally add work-related information to manage projects, clients, invoices, or expenses. This may include:

    - Client names
    - Company names
    - Client email addresses
    - Billing addresses
    - Expense receipts or files

  • What Traqq tracks during time tracking

When the timer is running, Traqq only tracks time spent on tasks and projects. It does not collect activity monitoring data, such as:

- Apps and websites used
- Input activity
- Idle time
- Activity scores
- Screenshots or screen recordings

There are no hidden monitoring options that allow admins to collect user data without users’ knowledge.

Account security

Traqq uses secure authentication and data protection practices to keep user accounts and workspace data safe.

Passwords are stored using secure salted bcrypt hashing, which means they cannot be accessed in their original form.

Traqq also uses:

- Short-lived verification codes
- Secure session management
- Role-based permissions
- API input and output validation
- Rate limits for sensitive authentication actions
- Secure cloud storage for uploaded files

Access to workspace data is controlled by role-based permissions. Users, managers, admins, and owners can only view and manage workspace data they are authorized to access. Learn more about roles and permissions in this article.

Transparent and ethical time tracking

Traqq is designed to help teams understand how work time is spent without compromising user privacy.

We believe that time tracking should create visibility, not pressure. That is why Traqq focuses on clear work time records instead of hidden monitoring.

Users can always see what data is collected, and access to workspace data and settings is based on role permissions.

Reports are created only from tracked time and assigned pay rates. Traqq does not collect user activity data to generate reports.
