How Secure Is Traqq – the Time Clock App? All You Need to Know

Many companies are transitioning to remote work to enjoy most of its benefits, from improved productivity to cost reduction.

However, monitoring productivity and keeping employees accountable are among the many challenges that impede the transition. That’s why the right tools are essential to successfully adjust to the work-from-home model.

The Benefits of Time-Tracking

Time-tracking software is among the essential tools needed to help organizations enjoy the full perks of remote work.

There are many ways a time-tracking application can help.

Improved Productivity

Time tracking helps individuals and teams understand how much time is being spent on various tasks and identify areas where time can be saved or optimized.

However, the overall manner in which time trackers transform work operations helps employees boost productivity. These applications allow managers to track the amount of time each employee spends on a particular task. The data helps them to understand the worker’s capacity. That way, they can efficiently assign the right task, matching the right talent to the right work assignment to meet project deadlines and reduce errors.

Also, time trackers expose areas where workers struggle. This information ensures managers can provide the right kind of support where needed.

Accurate Billing and Correct Payrolls

For freelance workers or companies that bill clients based on time spent, time tracking allows for accurate billing and helps avoid undercharging or overcharging.

Since time trackers keep accurate records of billable hours, companies can reduce payroll issues and streamline the payroll process. Time-tracking also helps to reduce the administrative burden on the accounting departments since time-tracking software can now automatically generate timesheets and invoices.

Better Project Management

Time tracking allows managers to monitor project progress, estimate future project completion times, and allocate resources more effectively.

By tracking the time spent on each task, project managers can better understand the resources required for different activities and allocate them more effectively. This helps to minimize idle time and increase efficiency.

Time tracking also helps to identify the true cost of each task and the amount of time required to complete it. This information is crucial in creating accurate project budgets and managing financial resources effectively.

Better Time Management

Time trackers help individuals understand how they are spending their time and identify areas where they can be more efficient.

They can see how long it takes to complete tasks and estimate the time required for future projects more accurately. This helps to avoid overcommitting and ensures that deadlines are met.

With time trackers, employees can also reduce time-wasting activities as some time trackers like Traqq help them monitor how much they spend on apps and websites. That way, they’re able to identify where they spend the most time and cut down on unnecessary habits and activities.

Increased accountability

Time tracking provides a record of the time spent on tasks, making it easier to hold team members accountable for their work and ensuring that deadlines are met.
The awareness of a monitoring system keeps employees focused on their jobs and motivates them to cut non-work related activities.

Time trackers also provide a level of transparency by making the time spent by employees on various tasks and projects visible to managers and team members. This level of transparency helps to reduce the potential for misunderstandings and fosters a culture of accountability.

Better Team Collaboration

When team members are aware of each other’s schedules, they can plan their work around each other more effectively, reducing the risk of scheduling conflicts and improving collaboration.

For example, if one team member has a busy schedule and cannot complete a task by a certain deadline, another team member can assist. This helps to ensure that projects stay on track and that team members are able to meet their deadlines.

Traqq and Security

Security is one of the main concerns about time-tracking applications and any digital product that collects information. Employers and employees are often skeptical about losing sensitive data and having their privacy breached.

However, Traqq adequately addresses those concerns, ensuring workers’ information is kept private, and company data is secured. Here’s how Traqq addresses security concerns.

Privacy

Traqq offers a wide array of features for effective employee tracking: work timer, screenshots, activity monitor, teams, app analysis, and more. Naturally, the question about the overall security of the time clock app comes up.

To make sure workers are confident that no one sees their private data, Traqq does not include big screenshots, making private screen contents invisible. It also takes 10-second screen records but blurs the video. That way, managers and supervisors can adequately monitor each employee’s work process without seeing their screen contents.

What’s more, Traqq does not use invasive features, such as controlling a computer’s webcam or saving keystroke data.

Security Infrastructure

Traqq is designed with multi-layer protection across a reliable distributed infrastructure. Let’s break down the facts: we use a dependable cloud service platform – AWS (Amazon Web Services) – to store your screenshots. Among many reasons why we chose AWS, we want to highlight that it complies with ISO 27018, a code of practice that focuses on the protection of personally identifiable information in the cloud. AWS has also adopted the EU-US Privacy Shield framework for the transatlantic data flow, which turned the scale for us.

Data Security

Here’s how we work with data: when a screenshot is taken, it gets sent to Traqq’s AWS cloud server – Amazon S3. We use an SSL protocol to safeguard your connection while the data is in transit. On the server, the files get encrypted with AES-256 (Advanced Encryption Standard 256-bit), which prevents unauthorized access.

Your account credentials, activity settings, and app stats are stored on our secure server. When you want to check your screenshots and activity through your dashboard, Traqq sends a request to the servers to display the data in question. The data is available only to the account holder, i.e. you, and the group members, provided you have joined one.

Traqq is GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliant, meaning that we follow the applied standards to better safeguard the processing and movement of EU citizens’ personal data.

If you have more questions or concerns on how we handle your data, don’t hesitate to reach out to us with your queries at support@traqq.com
